HYDERABAD (July 25 2006): Growers and ginners on Monday reached an agreement on fixing cotton ginning charges at Rs 37.50 per maund of lint for the current cotton season. The matter was thoroughly discussed at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Sindh Agriculture Extension Director-General Naeem Ahmed Korejo.

The meeting was attended, among others, by Director General Research, President of Sindh Chamber of Agriculture, Deputy Secretary Technical, and representatives of Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association, Trading Corporation of Pakistan, Cotton Standard Institute, and Pakistan Central Cotton Committee (PCCC). Other issues related to cotton quality, insurance of seed-cotton, ginning out etc, were also discussed.
