In a meeting held on January 07, 2006 between the representatives of Sindh Abadgar Board Sindh, Chamber of Agriculture and Sugarcane Growers Associations, with the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association Sindh Zone, the following understanding was reached:-

That all the stakeholders will revert to the position as existed prior to the regretful incident caused at Al-Abbas Sugar Mills, which is hereby condemned by all the stakeholders;

The Memorandum of understanding reached between the Government of Sindh and Pakistan Sugar Mills Association Sindh Zone, dated December 24, 2005 is endorsed and agree by the sugarcane farmers representatives and the mills will function under the said MoU;

Payment of Sugarcane will be made at the rate of Rs. 48/- per 40 Kg. in terms of Notification No. 8(142)SO(EXT)95-XXIII, dated 22nd October, 2005 plus Rs. 10/- per 40 Kg. over and above the minimum Sugarcane price.
That is Rs. 58/- per 50 Kg.

This Memorandum of Understanding was signed in presence of Mr. Sikander Hayat Bosan, Federal Minister, Mr. Muhammad Ali Malkani, Federal State Minister for Food and Agriculture and Mr. Fazal ur Rehman, Chief Secretary, Sindh.
