| BRIEF:
According to final estimate of Potato Crop of Sindh province for the year 2005-06 is assessed at 46309 Hectares in area and 40865 M. Tons in production, as compared to 48814 Hectares and 43195 M. Tons of last year’s final estimate, showing thereby an increase of 5.13% in area and 5.39% in production. The reasons of increase in both area and production are given as under: AREA: The area transferred towards Wheat Crop due to more return from the Wheat against Rape Seed & Mustard. During last 3-4 years the better policy of Government for the Sunflower Crop, the growers switched over the area of Rape Seed & Mustard towards Sunflowers. PRODUCTION: Production decreased due to decrease in area. |
