BRIEF:-
In Sindh, the area and production of Masoor (Rabi Pulses) crop for the year 2004-05 is finally assesed at 6193 Hectares and 3550 M.Tons, as compared to 8477 Hectares and 4652 M.Tons of last year's final estimate, which shows a decrease of 26.94% in area and 23.69% in production.
The reasons of decrease in both area and production are as under:

AREA:-
1. Due to no inundation in River Indus, less area of lentil crop was brought under cultivation on riverbed, where this crop is cultivated as bosi.
2. due to decrease in area of Rice crop, on whose residual moisture this crop is cultivated as dobari.

PRODUCTION:-
1. Production decreased due to decrease in area.
